For parents & carers

Built together with families.

The success of the group depends on families taking ownership of it too. This isn't something we run for your child — it's something we build together, with you. One of the aims of the programme is to foster close and trusting relationships with the junior youth, their families and the community.

What your child gains

  • Stronger schoolwork. Exercises in the texts build English, Science and Maths.
  • A moral compass. Stories about young people around the world open up real conversations about right and wrong.
  • Confidence to speak up. Thinking clearly and putting ideas into words in a group.
  • Good friends and role models. A steady group of peers and an older youth who looks out for them.
  • A chance to give back. Projects they design and carry out for their own neighbourhood.

How families take ownership

  • Get to know the animators. Come and say hello, and see a session for yourself.
  • Help shape the group. Share your ideas about what the children and the neighbourhood need.
  • Keep them coming. The real growth happens over months, not weeks.
  • Back their projects. A skill, a lift, supplies, or a space to meet all make a difference.
  • Bring other families in. The more families involved, the stronger the group.
