Young people in Mansfield Park are coming together — to make real friends, find real purpose, and build something that actually matters.
Save My Spot — It's FreeYoung people from around Mansfield Park are waking up to an idea: that they can shape what their neighbourhood looks and feels like. Not waiting for someone else. Not watching from the sidelines.
At The Parks Library, we're gathering for the first time to ask the simple but powerful question — what kind of community do we want to build together?
This is the beginning. Come and be part of it.
Everything we do is driven by two simple ideas — and both start with you.
Your neighbourhood needs you. Through discussions, creative projects, sports, and shared meals, we figure out how to make Mansfield Park more connected, vibrant, and safe — especially for the youngest kids growing up here right now.
Who are you becoming? What do you actually stand for? These gatherings are a space to push yourself, reflect, and grow — not just in skills, but in character. You leave better than you arrived. Every single time.
A big part of what makes this movement special is the Junior Youth (JY) program. Older youth — that's you — step up as animators and mentors, guiding kids aged 12–14 through arts, conversations, and activities that help them find their moral footing early.
You're not just growing yourself. You're lifting up the generation coming right behind you. You're showing them what it looks like to care, to show up, and to take responsibility for something. And that changes you in ways you won't expect.
Being a JY animator isn't a side role — it's the heart of what we do.
This isn't about followers or group chats that go quiet. The friendships built here are different — forged through actually doing something together, showing up when it counts, and genuinely caring about something bigger than yourselves.
Youth who've been part of these gatherings talk about lifelong bonds. Mates who become like family. Real mutual support and assistance — the kind you can only build when you're working shoulder-to-shoulder for your community.
Come ready to make friends. Real ones.
No lectures. No boring workshops. Just real people, real conversations, and good energy.
We talk about what actually matters — our neighbourhood, our goals, and how young people like us can make a real difference.
Creative activities that let you think differently, express what you care about, and connect with people you'd never normally meet.
Get active together. Sport is one of the best ways to break the ice, build team spirit, and just have a great time.
Share a meal. Some of the best conversations — and best friendships — start around food. We'll have you covered.
"I found some amazing friends here and together we're doing so much for the community. I didn't expect to connect this deeply with people from my own neighbourhood — people I'd walked past for years without really knowing."
"Being an animator for the junior youth group changed me. Helping the younger kids grow made me realise how much I actually had to offer. And the friendships I've made? I know they're going to be for life."
"I was nervous walking in the first time. But the vibe is so welcoming. We talk about real things — our community, our goals, what kind of people we want to be. And somehow that makes the friendships even stronger."
